Sometimes good and bad things all happen for a reason. In many instances, despair yields hope, and failure leads to success. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are two journalists who since 2007 have had an interesting story to tell. As a displeased party, Joe Arpaio vowed to teach the duo a lesson. Using his team of law enforcers, Jim and Michael got arrested by officers from the Sherriff’s department in the middle of the night, a move that led to a public uproar. Shortly after their release, Lacey and Larkin took the Sheriff’s department to task. The matter got presented to the court, and the evidence proved to be overwhelming against the county.

Six years down the line, Jim and Michael found their reprieve and got awarded a settlement amounting to $3.75 million. Without even touching a single cent, they chose to change the world with their newly found fortune, and that is when the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund got born.

Ever since its establishment, the Frontera Fund has financially supported close to thirty-six watchdog groups across the globe. One beneficiary to Jim and Michael’s goodwill is the Si Se Puede Foundation that has stood out for all rights.

With Si Se Puede Foundation being the brainchild of Alberto Esparza, it has offered young minds from low-income families with a platform to excel later on in life. Since day one, the organization has assisted people in doing their homework, exploring their soccer talent, and advancing their folkloric dance talent all for free. Over time, the group has adopted new practices meant to benefit underprivileged students.

A decade later, the Si Se Puede Foundation has created new challenges intended to help students in the State of Arizona advance their skills in technology, engineering, and Math. By doing all the above, Si Se Puede Foundation has created high-performance students much capable of pursuing engineering and science courses with great success. In its small way, the Si Se Puede Foundation is helping improve the standard of education in the country by making learners in America more competitive than they were in the preceding years.

Through efforts by the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund, the Si Se Puede Foundation has since expanded to offer scholars programs that help young learners gain more entry points as they head to college. Above all, the group has initiated a program that assists new college students to get access to scholarships.

Without support from Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin, the Si Se Puede Foundation would not have made it thus far. As it turns out, what happened to Jim and Michael a couple of years ago has proved to be a blessing in disguise, and institutions and communities from across the globe have gotten to benefit.
