As a displeased party, Joe Arpaio vowed to teach the duo a lesson. Using his team of law enforcers, Jim and Michael got arrested by officers from the Sherriff’s department in the middle of the night, a move that led to a public uproar. Shortly after their release, Lacey and Larkin took the Sheriff’s department to task. The matter got presented to the court, and the evidence proved to be overwhelming against the county.
Six years down the line, Jim and Michael found their reprieve and got awarded a settlement amounting to $3.75 million. Without even touching a single cent, they chose to change the world with their newly found fortune, and that is when the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund got born.
Ever since its establishment, the Frontera Fund has financially supported close to thirty-six watchdog groups across the globe. One beneficiary to Jim and Michael’s goodwill is the Si Se Puede Foundation that has stood out for all rights.
With Si Se Puede Foundation being the brainchild of Alberto Esparza, it has offered young minds from low-income families with a platform to excel later on in life. Since day one, the organization has assisted people in doing their homework, exploring their soccer talent, and advancing their folkloric dance talent all for free. Over time, the group has adopted new practices meant to benefit underprivileged students.
A decade later, the Si Se Puede Foundation has created new challenges intended to help students in the State of Arizona advance their skills in technology, engineering, and Math. Besides, the organization has also introduced robotics challenges aimed at improving student think-ability and performance. Read more: Jim Larkin | Twitter and Michael Larcey | Crunchbase
